What's In What's Out

At 3.5 years old, here is a list of what's in and what's out for Brian:

1. What's In:

Why? (since 3 months ago)

How do you spell "xxxx"? (since 1 month ago)

The Penguin DVD + Super Why (since 3 months ago)

His VTech Laptop (since 5 months ago, and recently plays with the games on it every night) and Dad and Mom's computers (since 1 month ago, and loves to open Word and type "Brian Bus/Train" on it with the largest font possible)

The Feliz Navidad clip on YouTube (since 5 months ago) (Other favorite ones: The Somewhere over the Rainbow by Connie on British Got Talent; Numa Numa)

The Lady Bug Game: Mom has to play at least 3 times a day with Brian. To save time (for Mom), Mom always makes sure that Brian gets the fastest cards and reaches home the first. (since 1 month ago)

Pretend play. Favorite ones:

(1) Mom is the passenger, and Brian absolutely controls when Mom can get on or off a transportation vehicle. The vehicle changes from day to day, train, bus, shuttle bus, airplane or cruise ship.

(2) Mom is the customer, and Brian is the nicest waiter you can ever have. He offers all kinds of dishes and drinks (although he sometimes claims sorry we don't have fish today). He runs in and out so earnestly to bring in and out dishes. And best of all, when he told you it cost 10 dollars, he would give you $10 as opposed to taking $10 away from you! I wish all waiters were like that!

(3) Brian goes to work and says goodbye to Elmo.

What's Out (well, they are not completely out; they are just not as popular as they used to be):

Chinese characters (after about 80 characters, Brian shows no further enthusiasm any more).

Puzzles (he still plays with his puzzles occasionally, but I guess he just needs some new ones to excite him)

Drawing (can only do this no more than 5 minutes)
